Robert Lowry (1826 -1899) was a pastor, musician, and editor of many hymnals. Songs he wrote include "Shall We Gather at the River?", "Low in the Grave He Lay" ("Christ Arose"), and "How Can I Keep From Singing?" In addition, he wrote the music for over a hundred hymns, including such favorites as "All the Way My Savior Leads Me," "Follow On," "I Need Thee Every Hour," and "We're Marching to Zion."
